Denny Knight is a Grammy-nominated Nashville music producer, engineer, musician, and songwriter. He has received a CBMA award and has been honored as Independent Producer of the Year two years in a row. In 1987, he was commissioned to engineer a variety of orchestral scores for the Library of Congress.

Knight has worked on numerous projects, including the film “The Last Days of Frank and Jessie James” starring Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson. He has also produced and/or engineered the audio broadcasts for the CMA Awards, Nashville’s New Country, and the Cashbox Awards. He has appeared on CBS’s Good Morning America, CMT, VH1, and the golf channel’s The Daly Planet with John Daly.

Knight has been featured in Billboard, R&R, Cashbox, Music Row, and many other industry trade magazines. He has worked with labels such as Warner Brothers, Atlantic, Mercury, and Curb Records. His label endeavors led him into the recording studio with country legends such as Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, Mel Tillis, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson. He has also worked with rock, soul, and bluegrass legends such as Bill Monroe, James Brown, and The Allman Brothers Band.

Knight began his career as Studio Manager and Chief Engineer at Doc’s Place Recording. He then moved on to be Operations Manager, Staff Producer, and Chief Engineer of Air Studios. He was also Director of A&R for Air Records and A&R Director of Delta Disc / PolyGram Records. Knight worked as Studio Manager, Chief Engineer, and Independent Producer for LSI Recording Studio, which was known for the variety of artists who recorded there, including Sir Paul McCartney, Marty Robbins, Styx, and Johnny Cash. He was also Producer, Studio Manager, and Chief Engineer for Comanche Studios, where he worked with artists such as pop artist Jewel and country artist Waylon Jennings.
